Only in Finland...:)

But I think it's great. The ability to laugh at oneself is important. And if a whole nation is able to do that, the living is much easier.

This Conan stuff makes me think of the Eurovision Song Contest and the "unofficial" host, the comedian Krisse Salminen, who made gentle irony of this rather pompous show. I think it hit the jackpot, but I've heard that in some countries her parody wasn't understood.
No wonder, Finns are sometimes quite insane...and happily so!

(maybe youtube has some cuts of Krisse's show, where she interviews some guest in English, it would be fun to watch!)

Oh yeah...and it was funny that Bush cancelled his appointment with Tarja, during her last visit to US....but she had time to meet Conan...That show how seriously Finland is taken....:))

Oh! I didn’t remember Krisse...I’ve heard many times that she is like a younger version of me. Or better say that I might be an older version of her…she is really great… I must check if I find something from her…

…luckily there are also some insane Americans…they can sit hours munching cheese popcorns waiting to see cyber sex….;)))

hahaha! This video is funny! Conan looks really flustered! Like he's feeling very uncomfortable while the interviewers are speaking Finnish! He is cute, though.

Your language is beautiful, Kirsi! I love the sound of the "r" ....how it rolls.

Good morning, afternoon, and evening...dear sister soul.

Conan does look a bit flustered doesn't he? Kirsi, what does your president look like?

Kelly

You can see Conan meeting Tarja and an other Finnish person here:

Hei Kirsi! I have seen this video before as well as a video of Conan meeting the president of Finland, Tarja Halonen (his look alike lol)

*Kylla, yes, Ana, Conan looked a tad uncomfortable. I also noticed how he was dressed.. so sloppy with sneakers! lol.. What a goof!

*Kylla = yes in Finnish. It's my word of the day and I found a way to use it! :))

Oh, I see that you linked to the video for Kelly

Concerning the video of comedian Krisse - That announcer, he was sure uptight! And he had no sense of humor at all. And old stuffed shirt, he was! lol

Hei Aurinkoinen!

Indeed, That announcer was really funny, he didn’t understand at all....Krisse is very popular comedienne in Finland….

Hey Banana

I think that Finnish is just very funny...I can't imagine how it really sounds...and how Finnish people pronounce English...that's terrible...

your language is beautiful. And I thought the female in the video, her sound, even more beautiful than the male. Her English sound was very attractive. I love accents...American men LOVE foreign accents...it is considered very sexy, Kirsi. So, don't worry about it...your accent will be a big turn-on! Believe me!

Oh, you found Krisse! She's adorable, and true, you look a lot like her in that tiny avatar of yours.
It was fun to hear the announcer in pain, hahhah.

Kirsi...I love the videos....the dilema is if i watch them to much I cannot say hello! I am not a big Conan fan....I really do not watch much TV, other than the weather, History Channel etc. But if Conan is helping promote Finnish-American realtions..well I am all for it. In fact I will help promote Finnish-American relations. Maybe if I try to be funny they will fly me to Finland, too. It is hot today...31.6C. The humidity is not bad....but I need to take off my tie and put on sandals. be back.

Hello everybody!!

Finnish people love every possible thing, what brings Finland any visibility….and it always amazes how less Finland is known. Only thing known worldwide is Nokia, and usually it is thought to be a Japanese brand….:))

Nokia...duh...I didn't know that was Finnish? I know that that have great metals works, steel, that they defeated the Russians in some war way back and that the women are beautiful.

//American men LOVE foreign accents// only when spoken by a woman....right now I am having a lot of trouble with business men named Sanjay Patel and Avinka Shah and Makeesh Desai....they pretend to not understand you when they do not like your information. Indians are very polite people...but very shrewd business people.

Hey, Kirsi....there was all sorts of popcorn in my shoes this morning...do you know how it got there?

*Itkupilli* said...

Jimmmm
Popcorn...must be those strange American rabbits...or .could be also something to do with cyber sex…????

//American rabbits...//

??? I did not know they ate popcorn??

Good night!

yep...got the code! I'm looking, don't you worry. Got my popcorn and am waiting for you two to "do the laundry"!
