I continue with Finnish theme...

....in this video Nighwish gives a little view to Finland, to the land of lakes, swamps and forests. To the land where still lives elves and fairies. Even each one of them has cell phone, internet and digital TV, they whip them self with birch branches and swim naked at the moonlight…

And one trivia of Finnish language:

The linguist and author J.R.R. Tolkien considered Finnish to be a particularly beautiful language, and described his youthful discovery of Finnish as inspiring him to pursue a linguistic career. Several of Tolkien's invented languages, notably Quenya, are stylistically related to Finnish.

hah hah you are so funny, you make always me so good mood...and yes I am one of them, of course...:))

And I like every aspect of that video - the visuals, the song, the musical style, the singer ... I will add Nightwish to my "to be investigated further" list.

You make a huge favor to Finnish music business...small effort for you, but a big step for a small country. I can see the tabloids: Nightwish hysteria rages all over the world....:))

Luonnonihana !

Beautiful video Kirsi! I hope that you shall continue to share with us more about Finland!

Do you spend a lot of time at shore? If I were in Finland, I would go there as often as possible..

Basket of kisses for my sweet Finnish sister! :)))

*Itkupilli* said...

Kiitos AnaJo

Very nice you liked it...,’coz Finnish theme will continue...I will start posting some of my art which are more based on Finnish nature and culture…and I will continue with Finnish music, which fit of course with my art.

I spend quite much time at the shore, if I go out I want to be close to water…and that’s of course very easy, lakes are everywhere…

Kisses to you my Aurinko Sisko.

This is a beautiful video...everything, the music, lyrics, singer, nature. Really lovely. And, I agree with Anajo, I would love to learn more about Finland, the people, the place, the customs...as much as you want to divulge. I feel at a loss...that you know more about the US than we do of your country.

And good morning, good afternoon, and good evening... to you, fairy Kirsi. Didn't see you and Jimm around much yesterday...and I had my popcorn waiting. It is stale now, so I will have to make another batch and hope that you two will do laundry tonight! hahaha!

love and kisses to you, Kirsi! I want to go down with the sun...

//I feel at a loss...that you know more about the US than we do of your country.//

That’s so funny…if you could see how much America we have here…in TV, movies, music, fashion…well everything. Finland is very “American” with many habits, but most of all with eating…America is everywhere…so no wonder that we know so much…

But I will put more Finnish stuff…I’ll teach you everything about Finland…

...but I’m now much more fascinated about your country…your sexy language…sexy landscape…sexy weather…sexy silly measures….:))

Anonymous said...

Sexy language? I think that Finnish and French are much more sexy than English!

singinghawk said...

yes, I have to agree with Anajo again, I think Finnish and French and most other languages much sexier than English.

Yes, teach us all that you know about Finland.

*Itkupilli* said...

Anajo...

Maybe for you...but Finnish is not sexy at all and French I don’t understand...American English is sexiest of all...:)

singinghawk said...

but I could see how you would think everything American is sexy with Jimm around...we do have some sexy men over here.

*Itkupilli* said...

Spanish and Italian are beautiful languages. And I like Swedish and German very much, British English is cultivated, but American English…very sexy…I get kicks out of it…

Anonymous said...

I tried and tried to get the video to play :(
I'll have to keep checking. It sounds incredible.
I love a French accent too!! And Italian. Kirsi is right, British English is cultivated~Although I wouldn't mind Orlando Bloom talking to me ALL night, day...month...week.....

American, sexy though?? Southern accents used to be cute, not so much anymore....
Banana,I think love has to do with Kirsi thinking that ;)

I knew a male nurse who was Finnish. We actually have a pretty big Finnish pupulation here {in Lake Worth, Fl.} And he sounded almost Irish to me...it reminded me a "wee little leprechaun" everytime he spoke. I loved to listen to him.

Well, Jimm should be returning from work soon... and then afterwards he and Kirsi will either be "going to sleep" or "doing laundry"...

It's popcorn time! :)

With cheesecake, err, cheese on top..

Anonymous said...

ya ya ya....think you're pretty funny AnaJ?? :0 :) Doing Laundry is a very bonding moment...she folds and I iron. ;)

//Finland is very “American” with many habits, but most of all with eating…// Wowsers! I hope Finland is not over run with Starbucks, and MacDonalds, that's very similar to culinary pollution.

I can not stand fast-food. I mean a good made hamburger is still not bad.....but you cannot buy one at a fast food. We have a lot of Hmong, Laotians, in our area...and lately we go there for authentic food.

and I agree with AnaB,who agrees with

//I agree with Anajo, I would love to learn more about Finland, the people, the place, the customs..//

Americans are not well aquainted with the rest of the world....most of them are not very well aquainted with America!

gees...Kirsi --your sexy language…sexy landscape…sexy weather-- Boy and Howdy...sexy weather!! I have not found it in Wisconsin....it must be in New Mexico!!

*Itkupilli* said...

Hello there...

I agree with fast food, I cannot stand it….and yet I ate Big Mac for dinner...:))

singinghawk said...

!yep it's about that time again...we are waiting...come on, let us see a little...don't be shy...I am only drooling in the background here...don't worry, I won't make my presence known. munch, munch...

and be careful with that iron, jimm..it may get a little too hot if you leave it on too long.

singinghawk said...

munch, munch...

// I ate Big Mac for dinner //

I would have made something....I do a great creole gumbo....shrimp,sausages, rice...a cold lager beer.....

Kirsi...I think AnaB is deprived,,,,or depraved...for the life of me I cannot see how watching two people do laundry can be 'exciting'....I brought the starch, though.

And I really like the idea of exposing everyone to a little Finnish culture.

Anonymous said...

Gees, Ana...help yourself to a beer, too. :) Can I get you a cozy chair? :)

singinghawk said...

hahaha! yes, exactly, Jimm! both! you hit it right on the nose!

Thank you, but I already have a beer and a cozy chair...munch, munch...

you two. way too tame lately.

singinghawk said...

the starch...I don't think you'll need that! hahahaha...just think kirsi with a cherry on top! A Kirsi Sundae!

*Itkupilli* said...

Oh Jimmmm!!! Oh starch…aaawwww…..don’t stop…!!!!

Oh and your cooking sounds much more delicious than my….I just give money and car keys, that has been my cooking lately….;)

Anonymous said...

Well AnaB as long as you are here....'ménage à trois' .....or are you stricty voyeur ;) ....comming up with new 'art ideas'....I have seen your art...I think you have plenty of 'ideas'....Kirsi? Are we out of cherries? Is a pineapple ok?

*Itkupilli* said...

Jimmm dear...

you know we are never out of cheese and cherries....

Anonymous said...

*Itkupilli* said...

aaawww....oh...yes please.......oh.....

Anonymous said...

munch munch munch...

Ana, stop hogging the popcorn!

I think that they're folding the laundry now! ... No "kinky" stuff while us voyeurs are hanging around, it seems..

Anonymous said...

good night good evening good morning good people

singinghawk said...

I'm onto the cherry...Anajo, nevermind the popcorn! I got a frontline seat -- right between them! ahahahaha...jimm invited me!~ hahaha!

singinghawk said...

and what do you mean goodnight?! it's just getting GOOD! geez...

*Itkupilli* said...

Anonymous said...

Good "Yötä"?

Quick, Ana, get out your translator... I think it's heating up! ;)

They're using a "steam iron" now.. (wink wink)

And save me a cherry, sweet witch!

Anonymous said...

I love to come here just to read the comments....Keep the popcorn, I brought Gummi Bears...

Anonymous said...

And no wonder Ana B made a comment about my boobies....I can put up a different one that has more cleavage showing Ana....

Anonymous said...

Nevermind the gummi bears...I'll be chewing on Now & Later's instead...they take longer to eat, seeing how this is going to take awhile....

I have heard the language and it is beautiful. The song is beautiful as well as the culture. I can't recall the exact film I saw from Finland but one was on the other day with English subtitles. When I saw the women speaking the language, it accentuated their allure for me. The only other language that has done that for me is French. But I am now most intrigued by Finland.

*Itkupilli* said...

Thank you sisters...it’s touching how much interest you have to our domestic-life....tonight there wont be any household activities...but if you be patient, you could see the best scene of ever later this weekend…the cleaning of the bath room…but you must be quiet…no munching…you see I first have to pretend that I’m sleeping…..;))

I’m very gladden…very nice to hear that you like our funny language…French are so proud of their language that they would be really amazed if they hear that about Finnish…:)
