Sunrise Twice A Day

Digital Collage by Itkupilli

We can only appreciate the miracle of a sunrise if we have waited in darkness.

Joe and I were just discussing this today. Our conversation was sparked by Timothy Tien's post at his Drips of Paint blog.

What is being high? It's but a state of mind compared to that of being low.

I must go and check Tim's post...yeah...state of mind...what else is...?

speaking of which...Hi Tim...there is something borrowed from Vincent...you noticed right...colors just different...I'm happy you liked...:)

I especially like the perspective in this ... almost like peeking past the blinds! :D

beautiful post... I also must go catch-up on Timothy's posts...

just wanted to say one thing first about this post...

I love the collage...it looks like a little girl, innocent and pure, like the sunrise.

And your title "Sunrise Twice a Day" reminds me of the experience of flying on a plane, during sunset, going west...the speed of the plane following the turn of the earth, the sunset appears to last a long time...quite beautiful.

It is more apparent the turn of the earth, and the multiple sunrise and sunsets, in bloggerville, too. It is high noon here, Kirsi...but I think it might be near sunset for you...

yeah...state of mind...what else is...?

It's just a state of mind.

Well, except for physical pain.. extreme pain... But even then, even extreme pain can be dealt with to a certain extent with state of mind... but only to a certain extent as pertains to extreme pain!

So maybe not entirely a state of mind afterall?

thank you...I didn’t think about perspective, before you mentioned it…and you found two perspectives from this…:)

Banana

Thank you….and indeed…in bloggerville we have so many sunrises a day….

I haven’t past many time zones…that must be exciting….

yes it’s close to sunset…though it’s still so light all night…no wonder that sometimes I don’t remember is it day or night…:)

I believe that after all everything is just a state of mind….things looks and feels real…like they are out side of us….but actually everything is reflection of mind…

…free your mind…and your ass will follow….:))

Anonymous said...

Kirsi,

I agree with you.... My ass follows my mind around more than it should! LOL

I was just making a comparison to extreme physical pain... And I mean extreme... not like a headache or a toothache...

*Itkupilli* said...

Well…I think that if there is exception, then there is no sense anymore…but I must admit that extreme pain is difficult to understand as a reflection….but if something can reach us outside so then could think that everything can…so which is the reason and which is the consequence…I have difficulties to find right words…it’s so easy to mix up words and then there is also no sense anymore….

…learn fast more Finnish, then we could discuss better…:))

Kirsi,
I have a way of always seeing the exceptions. I can't help it. At first when I look at something, it appears to be more black and white. And then as I dig deeper, I see that there are shades of gray in everything.

I know what you mean about reaching outside of us. We reach... we stretch... we expand our minds...

Your words are perfectly understandable. And your words are beautiful and profound.

What I mean by extreme pain... I'm not speaking of emotional pain here... but physical pain... extreme physical pain which lasts for a long, long time... It does cause one to re-examine the concept of black and white.

Without darkness we couldn’t really appreciate the light...there is also twilight…so many are totally satisfied with moderate…and would continue with that…but extreme pain can be like alarm…. awakening…it’s time we have to rate all our values…it can open us for more important things and bring real value to our lives…so if seen like that…it could be something what our subconscious create to wake us….to guide us to find what we really want….:)

Yes, Kirsi, you took the words from my mind... the pain guides us along our journey.

Heartfelt words my friend. Thank you.

Kiitos Kirsi.

I was almost going to say that today we have kept our conversation over the navel…but ass is under…so if we don’t mind the ass…we have been really refined today…though I am already in tomorrow….

Anonymous said...

This is just breathtaking!

*Itkupilli* said...

Oh thank you Pilar....I'm so happy to hear that...:))

So the fun stuff starts now? Oh goody!

But it's already 2:00 pm in Finland (14:00)...

You keep unpredictable hours Kirsi!

But then, I do too...

*Itkupilli* said...

there is no regular rhythm anymore...and I don't even try that anymore...I think I slept two nights...almost...but here I am...I quit from work earlier and I sleep at day time...:)

Anonymous said...

I sleep like a dog or a cat.. a few hours here and there. When one doesn't have a "nine-to-five" kind of job our cycles are more flexible..

And it's been so hot here, that I am slow during the day and then perk up at night..

But you with so much sunlight this time of year.. It must be rather disorienting.

Do you guys party more this time of year?

singinghawk said...

yes, we've managed to keep our conversation over the navel today, no talk of zizi or any other assinine things that so frequently comes forth from the mouth that speaks from the ass...this one.

singinghawk said...

when is the sunset anyway? do you actually have one at this time of the year?

*Itkupilli* said...

sunset is around 11 PM... now I think is the darkest moment...sun is rising soon...but nights are getting longer quite soon after midsummer....

people party here all night long at the summertime 'cos it's so light and all night long at the wintertime 'cos it's so dark...until 4 AM are many bars open...I used to that all the time...but not anymore...:)

singinghawk said...

11pm sunsets sound good to me...

singinghawk said...

good night...Kirsi...in case you are going to bed now or sometime soon...

sweet dreams...

...one color has been missing from my life for long...I've hated it...but in a moment it became my favourite color...the color of the heart chakra:

The Heart Chakra is the centre from which feelings of love emanate. It is also associated with other virtuous emotions, such as joy, happiness, honesty, respect, compassion, understanding, and generosity, and with loving oneself in a sincere, non-egotistic way. This is also the chakra through which we connect with others whom we love or have affection towards. Once forged, these links are very hard to break, which is why people suffer so much through the break-up of a relationship or the loss of a loved one

I love GREEN...I want to drink more magical mushroom tea...thanks Rob...

singinghawk said...

This last comment is beautiful, Kirsi...

Good evening to you...I am happy that you are seeing many things in color now and that you love green! -- and drinking magical mushroom tea with Rob!

Cheers to love and magical mushroom tea!

And lots of green love to you today, Kirsi.

Now I must go and have some green tea...

My love and me as we sing
Our early morning singin' song

Gliddy glub gloopy; Nibby nabby noopy
La la la lo lo...
Sabba sibby sabba; Nooby abba nabba
Le le lo lo...
