Are you real?

Digital Collage by Itkupilli

Is bloggerville a little fantasy world where we make friends and pretend them to be real? What do we know about each other…or is this just place where we can make things look like we want them to be? A place without borders and limits of reality? All we have is our imagination and intuition….can we really trust on them? I do…and I prefer to trust more to my intuition than knowledge…sometimes these are not in balance…it can cause confusion…but I really think that only real thing is the spirit…and that’s something you can’t reach with knowledge…only with intuition…that's the only way to get to know somebody...without any bias of the "reality"....

I've had this quote here before...but I think it is worth to put it once more:

To know another human being in their essence, you don’t really need to know anything about them — their past, their history, their story. We confuse knowing about with a deeper knowing that is non-conceptual. Knowing about and knowing are totally different modalities. One is concerned with form, the other with the formless. One operates through thought, the other through stillness.

Knowing about is helpful for practical purposes. On that level, we cannot do without it. When it is the predominant modality in relationships, however, it becomes very limiting, even destructive. Thoughts and concepts create an artificial barrier, a separation between human beings. Your interactions are then not rooted in Being, but become mind-based. Without the conceptual barriers, love is naturally present in all human interactions.

Oh lovely Kelly...you warm my heart...how are you wake this late...?

...I'm always happy to see you...and I love coming to your beautiful blog...my dear friend and sister...:)

Personally, I am not really real.
But I like this post new.
You have to have an enormous collection of images to make all collages !
Das ist praktisch, über mehrere Sprachen sprechen zu können!

Kirsi, I cant sleep. Also, because of you, you prompted me to add a little more to my current post. I added something more, on a personal note, after I read yours.

People come into our lives for a reason, a season and a lifetime...

*Itkupilli* said...

Hallo Dad ... Du bist nicht echt? Dass glaube ich nicht, .... für mich du sehr echt aussiehst. Ich kann dich mit meiner Intuition fühlen. Könntest du schwedisch sprechen?

*Itkupilli* said...

Kelly

I agree...there is always a reason for every relationship...

I've had also sleepless nights...

Your post is very beautiful and so true...

Ah' yes...the proverbial question..I was musing on how much "me" I am n cyberville...and can only come to the conclusion that the essence of me is most radiantly manifested here even more poignantly than in meatspace....And no matter how much a person assumes a writing character..the real being of the person behind the monitor screen always manages to seep through...Bloggy' relationships are deep and very emotional..this is my experience...a real treasure to behold.

*Itkupilli* said...

Lady Luxie….

So well said…and oh… do I know about deep and emotional bloggy relationships…can only say that I have some experience of that…indeed… real treasures to behold….:))

Jeepers, Kirsi! Look at that old pony car!!! I wasn't looking to be 17 again ... but those memories have been aroused! A beautiful piece as usual. :)

Thanks Mick...

We have relatively much American cars in Finland...interest of both old and young timers are huge…I prefer more European young timers….but I must admit that I like some American cuties too…70's cars especially brings nice memories....

Good evening Kirsi,

I like your surreal collage. I just returned from DAD's blog, where he also has served some surreal food for thought.

I am drawn to that old vehicle with the turquoise, lavender, peach, yellow and blues all faded together and the old gas pump. "Girl Scout Cookies" incongruously written on the shop window (or roll-down door, i can't tell which) lends to a certain confused state of mind.

There are times when I'm not sure if I'm real. Right now, for example. I spent all evening painting and I'm a bit sleepy this morning and feeling as if in another world.

Do we pretend each other to be real? I suppose that friends we meet in the flesh also make things look the way that they want them to. In a way, life is without borders and limits if we choose to live that way.

Virtual friends online are different, though. It's true. We don't sit in a café and share a beer, or sit in the garden for hours discussing life. Instead, we share little bits and pieces here and there with our little blog posts. And yet, Kirsi is a real person to me. I'm getting to know her a little bit here and there. There is a lot that I don't know about her, but I do know that she has a good heart. She also has a good sense of humor and I enjoy coming to her blog to smile and to laugh, and to enjoy her surreal artwork with beautiful women depicted.

A basket of kisses and hugs for you my virtual friend.

AnaJo

...thank you my dear virtual Sun Shine....you’re so warm hearted…

…and about my sense of humor… I think it’s mostly my bad English…I don’t need to try to be funny…I do it accidentally all the time….;))

Anonymous said...

No, Kirsi, it's not your "bad english". You make few mistakes. It's your use of play on words and such that I enjoy so much.

The few little mistakes that you make are charming, though, I assure you. Not funny, but charming. ;)

Anonymous said...

And Kirsi, your grammar and spelling are actually better, in general, than many Americans. Seriously!

*Itkupilli* said...

Oh….thanks Anajo…and if you don’t tell anybody…I tell you a secret…I do mistakes only to get laid…;))

Kirsi! I'm trying to figure out which side to see you...you are a really good gymnast, bouncing around like that! -- and that is a really pretty and cute picture of you! hahaha! you clown woman! I love you!

I have more to write about this post...it is a very good one. I just woke-up but will be back....

singinghawk said...

I would say, Kirsi, that I am the most "real" in bloggerville than I am in person. My blogger friends have seen the real me many times. Whereas, in person, I hide sometimes. In bloggerville I have more freedom to express myself. I can say to you, "I love you." And I truly do. But if I were to say that to a new friend face-to-face, it might be seen as a little too much -- to open and too vulnerable. I think cyber distance gives us a freedom to express things that we might not express face-to-face.

Anonymous said...

Kirsi said~//Btw...I like frogs...:)// I have an entire frog family in he pond in my backyard right now. The tadpoles are probably about 2-3 wks. old and I'm sure they will be moving along soon. But the mama & daddy frogs are awfully noisy at night....

Kirsi, I agree with what Thankwee said: YOU are REAL!!
Kirsi, I wish I knew you in "real life"...

Anonymous said...

...oh maybe first the zoo and moonlight walking...but then....

LOL, yes, but of course...

Are we really real? I'm beginning to wonder, what with all of us upside down and with little pink hats and red noses.

This silliness is getting entirely out of hand!

singinghawk said...

well I often wonder if I am real when I am alone. But when in the company of others who think similarly, those who wear pink hats and pink noses, and look at life from on their heads, I know I am real.

singinghawk said...

that reminds me of thes story about the Velveteen Rabbit.

Anonymous said...

//that reminds me of the story about the Velveteen Rabbit. //

What about it? I don't remember that story...

singinghawk said...

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

*Itkupilli* said...

Pink hats and red noses…I really love you all….

…and frogs and rabbit even gets better…:)

Banana, that was so beautiful story...

Anonymous said...

Kirsi, you are easy to love~what I meant by saying I wish I knew you in real life, is that the world needs more people like you. You simply just "are"...and it shows. I think thats why we all love you right back!!

Anonymous said...

I like your Velveteen Rabbit story AnaBanana. Have you ever read The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince)? I think you'd like it.

Anonymous said...

Very good story Ana~It reminds me of a couple of different newer childrens stories...

Anajo~I read that story {The Little Prince} more recently. it too is a good story.

I thnk all the clowns are here and counted for now!! lol

*Itkupilli* said...

Kelly you are very sweet, your words warm my heart…you are all so dear and amiable…I love you guys...

...and Kelly you look very cute with your hat and nose…

…The Little Prince is very nice story…

Yes, a very cute birthday gift Ana! Kiss kiss! (not baiser baiser LOL)

And there's Kelly in her clown outfit too!

Entirely too silly!

I'm in good company with those who like Le Petit Prince! Ahhhhh.. so cute...

Anonymous said...

Kirsi~Merci cherie...

Anajo~Nice birthday present Banana gave you!! It made my day!!! lol

singinghawk said...

yes, the little prince is a classic.

Anajo...all I wonder is why DAD did not let me know that I was saying "to f--k, to f--k" instead of "kiss, kiss." LOL! HE let me continue saying that to him, Odanor, and baxter!

*Itkupilli* said...

LOL...and you wonder why...;))

singinghawk said...

Kirsi...I failed to say anything about you collage or the song...

But I see that it is another image that seems to echo something of before. alone and waiting... It is a beautiful image and it makes me wonder. "shoot the freak" is a bold statement. I sense something....it is in the quiet and it is in this image and it is in the song. It seems sad. There is a bit of resignation -- acceptance of despair.

*Itkupilli* said...

You’re right about the image…but I did it some time ago…and there are some lines in that song, which I thought don’t fit now…so everything is right…only something’s are quite confusing and bit complicated….but nothing to worry about…:)

singinghawk said...

oh, I see...Kirsi...it is an older image. That makes sense now. Okay...I will not worry.

singinghawk said...

Kirsi...you must come to my blog and see DAD's new comment! Beware of his nose! It will make you laugh for sure!

*Itkupilli* said...

ROFLMAO!Dear Dad!...now we all have red noses...should we follow him...HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

singinghawk said...

yes! I was thinking about that! a zizi for a nose -- all of us! he is hiding it now!

DAD is a very bad boy!

Anonymous said...

only something’s are quite confusing and bit complicated….but nothing to worry about…:)

Kirsi, I sense that you are hesitant to speak your mind because you don't want to offend anyone. ;) Of course, I may be wrong...
You can always speak your mind with me..

DAD is a very bad boy!

Yes, and so is AnaBanana! Haha! So is Anajo, but she hides it better.. LOL

*Itkupilli* said...

Thank you AnaJo...you are very kind...I remember that…

It’s has been quite wild party…LOL

Anonymous said...

Yes, Kirsi, quite Wild. A lot of sexy naked men! :))

Anonymous said...

And, yes, do remember Kirsi... I mean it.. Freedom of thought is important for understanding one another..

Anonymous said...

reality! wow, what a concept. We have rather stretched it and can now do so across time and space to levels never before imagined....but there was a book, or series of books from the early seventies that I read quite a bit of when I was a young hippie...The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castenda....one part that always stuck with me....

-The Art of Dreaming-

Sorcery is the act of embodying some specialized theoretical and practical premises about the nature and role of perception in molding the universe around us.
Our world is only one in a cluster of consecutive worlds, arranged like the layers of an onion. Even though we have been energetically conditioned to perceive solely our world, we still have the capability of entering into those other realms, which are as real, unique, absolute, and engulfing as our own world is.
For us to perceive those other realms, not only do we have to covet them but we need to have sufficient energy to seize them. Their existence is constant and independent of our awareness, but their inaccessibility is entirely a consequence of our energetic conditioning. In other words, simply and solely because of that conditioning, we are compelled to assume that the world of daily life is the one and only possible world.
Believing that our energetic conditioning is correctable, sorcerers of ancient times developed a set of practices designed to recondition our energetic capabilities to perceive. They called this set of practices the art of dreaming . It's the gateway to infinity.
......**

Then there is another take on reality...life...that a friend sent me a few years ago. After some searching I found it...I think it hit the rounds on the internet a few years ago, but I still like it

**Life

A philosophy professor stood before his class with
some items on the table in front of him. When the
class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large
and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it
with rocks, about 2" in diameter.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They
agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up
a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He
shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled
into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was
full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it
into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything
else.

He then asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with a unanimous "Yes."

The professor then produced two cans of beer from
under the table and proceeded to pour their entire
contents into the jar - effectively filling the empty
space between the sand. The students laughed.

Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
"I want you to recognize that this jar represents
your life.

The rocks are the important things - your family,
your partner, your health, your children - things that
if everything else was lost and only they remained,
your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter - like
your job, your house, your car.

The sand is everything
else. The small stuff."

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued
"there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same
goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy
on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things
that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out dancing.
There will always be time to go to work, clean the
house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.
Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the
beer represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to
show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's
always room for a couple of beers.

***

I sometimes have a difficult time realizing that my brother in Washington state...really does not know what my life is like anymore...nor does Fritz in Denver, or LT in the Virgin Islands, or my buddy Wheels down in Tampa....but we were all very close in real time.....and now we are still close in a completely different etheral zone. I kinda of stop thinking of it....it sometimes hurts too much to know that the real time......may never exist again. But there is always room for a beer! Two....if I can find the time.
